A short while ago I opend an a account with BT for some reason I took them up on their offer of "security" I kept getting e-mails from them saying I had nót loaded it from the net and it was waiting for me. So, loaded it in (apparently a Macaffy system in patnership with BT) anyway I found every thing slowed down drasticly and then it would not reconnect to the internet
at all, my partners laptop up stairs (wireless) was ok so as I could not face
the indian helpline I've just removed it again and now all is well why I signed up for the bloody thing I don't know. I have relied on the built in system on XP and as I have no banking or anything on here I've never worried about it
but what caused this any ideas anyone?. All is good now perhaps I should have disabled the XP version on the PC first? anyway all is now serene (till BT cock up again!).

In general you should not try to run two different virus checkers simultaneously. They are known to cause conflicts.

Not sure exactly what the security package tries to do (firewall, virus checker, anti malware, etc). Some of these bits of software are resource hogs and can slow your PC to a crawl.
