Wanted Seiko Advice Please

J or K makes no real difference. One is made in Japan, the other isn’t. Die hards see it as a big deal and it gives you a different second language option for the day/date, but that’s about it.

One thing with Seiko is to ignore the measurement. They nearly always wear smaller than the measurement suggests.

Worth finding some pics of models you like the look of and popping them in and having a think about metal bracelet vs leather or rubber and then quartz vs automatic. Should get you halfway dowj the funnel.

Agree. If you just want to enjoy the watch and don't care about collecting/reselling it makes near-zero difference.
Considering they are no longer produced, I'd go with what you find.

The 009'd dial is slightly blue, while the 007 is black.

I hate the jubilee bracelets too. :)

There was this very nice Prospex advertised on here a little while ago - don't know if it sold?

One of these Seiko Prospex Padi Turtles with a “Pepsi” bezel ? Mines not solar, it’s mechanical.

Quite a solid watch, built like a tank. I love Seiko, I own quite a few.

Mines a keeper (as is my 6105-8110 “Willard” and my Gene Kranz).

It’s a slippery slope kinda like eating Pringles, once you pop you can’t stop.

I’ve just seen the Naomi Uemura tribute today, if only I had a spare £2600 to spend.
That "cushion" case is the most comfortable I have worn, top choice

I know I'm biased but I do think Seiko's SKX007 is an absolute classic dive watch.

I bought this 15 years ago to take the weight off an Omega Seamaster that was getting knocked to bits at work. The Seamaster is long gone but I still wear this daily.View attachment 463509
I've got one of these and it was my daily wear, but I got tired of its lack of accuracy. Seiko serviced it, but its still out by the end of the week. Looks fabulous. Switched to a citizen quartz which is second accurate all the time.

I think mine loses about a minute every fortnight - I can live with that!

Mine was similar, but has now dropped to a minute a day, which isn't so good. I'll take Davros' advice though and let Seiko have it for a service. It's 25 years old, so probably due.
