Guys/Gals, I’ve had standard panniers and found that they go ‘off’ after a while with corrosion (not that it really bothers me, I’d rather ride the bike than worry about it) however I’ve come up with this ‘mini top case’ (not a great lover of full size top boxes generally unless I’m delivering pizza) and I don’t know which one I like the best - raw aluminium (and all the issues that brings) or powder coated (for protection).

The reason for the question is that I’ve made a box for my rack and I don’t know if raw or powder coated is best?

Has anyone managed to nail the issues we tend to get with the raw panniers?

Not sure of the spelling but I’ve had lots of bits done in cerakote. Really nice hard wearing finish.

Cerakote is the absolute mutts nuts and soooooooo hard wearing, way better than powder coat, but dearer too.

It's also very thin, so the prep of the metal underneath needs to be spot on or you will see any imperfections.
