So i have the sena srl2 which does its job ok for my needs, my partner also has the same on her helmet, all works as it should, my mate has a Cardo Bold Mesh headset so at the moment we cant talk.

I ride lots with my mate and only a little with the bird, we have a big trip ahead and would be handy to chat shit at times.

Can somebody let me know if i add the Mesh adapter would we be able to talk?

Cheers

That's what we do!

My Nrs has an aolder setup with a non-Mesh Schuberth C3 integral SENA kit. She can talk great with me (only) using bluetooth.

When we ride in a group, all the riders have MESH (and some pillions when applicable) my Mrs uses a Sena MESH adapter and can join in a multi-way conversation.

Decent kit usually available for £50 iss 2nd hand :)

A tad of faff, but you can usually bring one person in on bluetooth and patch them into a MESH - managed this on a ride last year with another guy's pillion...

Benefit of Sena MESH is that it "repairs" - anyone on the same channel will join the conversation using MESH

While I remember, there's some updates out there - make sure you all get the latest SW update (get the app on your laptop and connect the device on a ESB cable and update the software) - seems some SW versions are not compatible...

I think there is some confusion.

As I understand it, the SENA Mesh adaptor allows SENA bluetooth headsets to join a SENA mesh group conversation, but it will not connect to a Cardo mesh system.

If your mate has a Cardo Bold and you have a SENA bluetooth SRL2, you should be able to connect using bluetooth, rather than mesh.

This is how AI describes the process:

Steps to Pair Cardo Packtalk Bold to Sena:
  1. Cardo Setup: Power on. Hold the Intercom button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes red.
  2. Sena Setup: Turn on. Access the configuration menu to select Universal Intercom Pairing or hold the jog dial until pairing mode is active.
  3. Connect: Wait for both devices to flash blue, indicating a successful connection.
  4. Initiate Call: If not automatic, tap the intercom button on the Cardo to start the connection.
Note: For the best results, use the Cardo Connect app to ensure your firmware is up to date.

Key Considerations:
  • DMC vs. Bluetooth: This pairing works via Bluetooth technology, not DMC (Cardo) or Mesh (Sena).
  • Alternative Method: If standard pairing fails, put the Sena in mobile phone pairing mode and connect it as if it were a phone, then use the Cardo to initiate the call.
  • Range: The connection operates as a two-way Bluetooth link, often limited to the range of the Sena's Universal Pairing capability.

You are right, RichardD - apologies, I missed the Cardo word in the original post

Dump the cardo and go open mesh is my view :) Sena make their mesh code available to other vendors (like interphone) so it's not proprietaery unlike cardo

Thanks for both your help. We will give it a go.
