All,

Im interested in getting a sargent seat for my 04 Adventure. I have the OEM low seat at the moment and I get numb bum after a 100 or so miles. I can touch the floor solo and put both feet flat down on the floor when 2-up with luggage.

The problem is that im unsure which to get. If the sergent seats are lower than OEM, then I dont want the low seat as a bit more leg room would be a good thing, but Ive read conflicting reports on said differences (BTBR/NN).

Can anyone who has gone from HIGH OEM seat to HIGH sergent seat confirm the difference or for that matter from LOW OEM to HIGH sergeant seat.

thx

My twopence worth, if you have a OE low seat then you need the Sargent low seat without a shadow of doubt.

The Sargent seat (at least mine was'nt and it was the low option) is NOT 1/2" lower than the OE low one, in fact it 2/3mm higher!

But also please remember that the Sargent seat is around 40mm wider than the stock one. Hence when you come to standstill you will have further to put your leg out due to the increase in the overall width of the seat. Therefore it does feel a lot higher.

Thx BTBR, Q for you, has the sergent seat got a non-slip surface especially on the pillion area.

To be honest it did not seem that 'non-slip' to me?

I say 'did', coz I only had it a few days and then sold it. The extra width of the seat which resulted in it appearing to be higher than it was when you need to put your leg down proved to be to much of an issue for me?

I personally found that the rider part of the seat, not to be non-slip. For the first few miles I tended to slide forward on the seat, but once the seat foam had warmed it and you had guffed a few times, it then moulded to the shape of yer arse and it was ok.

But as for pillion comfort on the GSA, for sure, it is a major improvement without a doubt.

Again, my own personal opinion is that it is a shit load of money to spend on a seat, of which I needed to be 100% happy with it, which sadly I was not.

That said, the craftsmanship is excellant and it is really very well made and finished off. Even s/s screws used in the underseat toolbox lid just add those little finishing touches.

My suggestion is to try one if you can before you shell out all your hard earned cash.
