oh, and for pattern parts like Ferodo brake pads, I found Ebay to be good. I tended to use the Ebay shop of a genuine motorcycle parts supplier like Demon Tweeks. Do you have such a thing in Ireland? Although you can order from the whole EU.
The online Ferodo catalogue is pretty good at cross referencing OE parts against their pattern parts. Then just search Ebay for the pad reference.

Mr Old Boots raises an issue we are suffering from here in Dublin as discussed by us recently. There’s a problem finding a knowledgeable BMW experienced bike mechanic here. John Tilley in the midlands is injured presently and another potential person in the north is unable to take on new work. So the search continues for someone with 1150 experience.
Have you tried AMC in Ashbourne? I was there recently with my VFr1200f, and he had a R1200gs on the bench, working on it.

Same as for a business. The ROI recipient pays ROI VAT having previously paid UK VAT - it's called BREXIT.
Post to NI & collect or have it conveyed South by the "Murphia" works - even for for the likes of me 360K from the border. On the other hand continental businesses post to me directly without additional VAT or hassle - inverse progress.
