Sorry for this post, but this is another ignorant question leading up to me (hopefully) getting a GSA within the next few weeks.

Servo ABS

When the ABS is turned off, how does this affect the servo operation?

Non ABS models

Are there non ABS models out there with servo as well? What is the norm?

Sorry for the ignorance on this issue, but I'm just trying to cover all angles before committing to the fnancial outlay!

Servo ABS:

When the ABS is TURNED off (as per the instructions), the servo still operates, but the ABS doesn't work.

Your choice is either ABS/Servo or conventional brakes. That is, if you skip the ABS, you don't get the servos.

Which is a bit of a shame, as I think that there are several people who would love to have ABS, but don't want servos, and I think there are even people who would like the servos, but don't necessarily want ABS.

I owned a non ABS Adv, the brakes were very good . I had more faith in them than i have in my 12GS ABS, tho' have to say it has been trouble free.

no ABS, no servo, less weight and less stuff to go wrong. Sometimes this matters.

I gather, then that yours is non ABS?

I think with the non ABS/non servo option, I'm also looking at braking performance, as it's going to be considerably different from my ZX12R (duh!), and it's an even heavier bike!!

Do you know how much less weight non ABS beasties carry?

my GSA is non ABS, my RT has the full servo/ABS works - the GSA has Goodridge steel hoses and braking performace is excellent, the RT's brakes are also very good and appropriate for my style of riding.........at a guess I'd estimate the ABS gubbins to account for 10-15lbs which is still somewhat less than I'd like to lose off my own bodywork.
