Servo failure?

I had a similar problem and it was a piece of crap stuck under the brake lever. Flushed it out with WD40 and its all good. Worthy try. Took a few goes with the WD40 though.

Turns out it's the bolt securing the micro switch... leading to the bike thinking the brake lever was being pulled, not allowing the servo to set itself.

Now just need to get the tiny little bolt replaced. But at least it's not a £1800 problem!!

Brilliant Mav! I always like to hear a good outcome with these shitty braking issues, I have a 2005 so I always sweat when I have a flashing light. Its happend to me a lot when I have been up in the mountains don't know why but I usually cure it by switching off and on but once it went on to residual braking coming down of a col scarey stuff!

All fixed now :bounce1

And David - all by myself... with only a couple calls to the dealer :blast

Thank you Mav, this thread saved me some grief. Seeing that you had a brake light fault, I checked mine (my servo failed earlier today), and sure enough my brake lights were stuck on!!! wtf??? turns out mine was nothing more than the handguard being twisted and was touching the brake lever slightly - moved it back and now all sorted - WHAT A RELIEF!!!!

Cheers

Rich
