Which of the shaft bearings are tapered ones, or is it all? 1150 by the way

noticed a small oil leak frmm the boot, and as always decided it was nothing to worry about, but finally removed the boot to clean the excess oil and found what I believe to be 2 of the rollers from a bearing

Could have been there for ages, and all seems smooth enough when spining the wheel, but that doesn't prove anything, so just wanted an idea of where they may have come from..:thumb

Thanks for that, but that shows the final drive bearings and a leak by the wheel, mine is from the rubber boot and it was in there I found the needle bearings, and much smaller than those shown.

These are probably about 5mm long and 1.5mm thick :thumb just wondering if these could be the paralever or from further up.

Sorry about that, I know what you mean now.

If it helps, there's a full set of fiches available for the 1150 here.

Excellent, looks like the choice of 2 so off the garage we go.....not at speed I think now...

Those needle rollers can't fall out unless one of the pivot bearings has exploded properly in which case you'd probably feel it! Front end not connected to the rear type thing :D Could be left over from the last time they were replaced? :nenau To find out proper you need to take off the rear wheel, jack up the bike somehow, undo paralever tie rod(?)(support FD first too!) and try moving the final drive up and down. You''ll feel it if it's buggered :thumb2
