I've bought an 1150GS with 40k miles. When going along the road ( at various speeds ) when you roll on and off the throttle, there is a 'knock' through the footpegs coming from the gearbox/paralever join. This is felt particularly when rolling the throttle completely off.

It's almost like chain slack, but with an obvious 'knock' as it takes up the slack, so to speak.

Does anyone know if this is normal for the 1150, or a sign of worn bearings etc.

Bit difficult to diagnose, but, yes - there is some 'slack' in mine when rolling on and off the throttle. More noticeable when you shut the throttle sharpish. No cush-drive like a chain to absorb it, I s'pose.

No 'clunk', however; this may indicate summat is worn

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to get it booked in Somewhere just to be sure. Going to Picos next month. Cheers

Sounds normal to me too...maybe we've all got the same problem though. If so i've had mine for about 20,000 miles and it hasn't packed in yet so not too concerned!
