Hi all,
I was having trouble keeping my pinlock in the right place. If I started the ride with it all sealed and didn't open the visor it was fine, as soon as I lifted the visor and put it down again it would steam up under the pinlock.

Thinking I was being a bit thick I took it back to the Shoei dealer, they noticed that the pinlock was getting caught on the rubber seal at the top. This also explained why I was pushing my helmet backwards and was very difficult to open. There was also no click in place when the visor was closed shut.

What was happening was the pinlock was being dislodged from the visor when I opened the visor.

I am collecting it tonight but have been told that Shoei has completely replaced the seal on the helmet. It seems that mine is the not the only one. It also now clicks when shut.

If you have been experiencing the same then check this.

Dizzy.

Hi dizzy,

Same helmet here, so far.... no problems.

What's your opinion about the noise? I replaced my old BMW sportintegral after almost 10 years... and I have to admit that I am not that pleased with the Shoei noise level.

Thanks!

It's better than my Schuberth C3.
I don't find it too bad for noise. R1200GS LC, standard smoked screen, I'm 5'10", use custom earplugs.

I'm 6' 1", puig screen.

My wife got a Schuberth, I think they only problem is that the Schuberth is a bit more "open" and the bottom, so it picks up more noise from the bike, but it is quieter from the top of the helmet.

Not sure about the earplugs, never try them so I can not comment, but I think... I would feel a bit deaf, and not very safe with them.

Feel deaf with them or really go deaf without them. Riding a motorcycle without earplugs will seriously damage your hearing.
