Short stay in Northumberland?

Over the Bank holiday me and the mate + wives are heading over to Northumberland to see the sights ie Bamburgh castle, Alnwick, Holy Island, Blanchland etc and I'm after any recommendations you have on places to stay, maybe Wooler or any lovely little village around there but hopefuly reasonably priced, funds are tight and I am from Yorkshire after-all

Any help would be much appreciated

If you're using the bikes bring a decent lock or find somewhere with secure parking there has been a significant increase lately in thefts of quads and bikes in the rural area.

alnmouth is lovely. Great beaches and nice old pubs.
