In preperation for my forthcoming trip.. decided to have the original 'rider' seat remade to suit me.
raised by 3"
Tony Archer, who did the work - remarked at the start how unusual this was. 'first for a GS he said'... today when I went to collect he said a bit nervously.. are you sure about this? I think its going to be too tall.
Nonsense... tis absolutely perfect. (being a freak - I can still get both feet on the ground)
before and after pics. (both pics show the seat in the high position)
Bloody marvelous job. £60.
Far better than the alternative... lowering the pegs. The covering is a tad more grippy, which is great.. and the seat is a little more level, which suits me fine. At long last my old tractor actually fits me. (rather than vicey versey)
Nice side effect is the luggage space.. now a far more secure area to strap the Ortlieb between the top-box and the seat.. no chance whatsoever of it moving.

I use an Airhawk which gives me a bit more room and a lot more comfort. I also have a very tall screen
