Show us yer Triple Black GSA!!!

Clicked 500 miles today ... So ready for service on sat

Couple of things ...

Shift assist ... Not good going down the box , have to roll off completely and nurse it down with the throttle !!! And going up the box ... Very tight ( hurts my foot ) ... Is this normal ? Will it improve with more miles ??

Can't believe how poor the screen is compared to my old GSA ( 2013 ) ... I'm getting buffeted ... Screen options please ? And yes I've tried in all different positions .

Which side stand foot enlarger thingy do we recommend ?

Am I impressed ? Not really ...my old one was quicker/ pulled harder through the revs ... Again time will tell... And a visit to hilltop ..:thumb2
Couple of things.......
Point 1;it gets better with familiarity.
Point 2; screen is fine as good as if not better than the previous tc screen, try adjusting it or try with a different lid.
Point 3; wunderlich but use threadlock on the fixing bolts.
Point 4; are you serious? :D

After 20,000 miles ... I've said goodbye to my TB ... And wow ... Really like my new TB :bounce1

Looks great Andy, congratulations :thumb2

When I test rode one the quick shifter was great going up the box, but I couldnt get it to work very well when changing down to 2nd and 1st.

Point 2 ... I've tried it with 2 different helmets and all the various positions... It needs to be a taller screen ... And I'm only 5ft 10

Point 4 ... Yes my old bike pulled / revved easier ... Ok it had full Akro and Hilltopped .... But I find myself waiting for this..got the flat spot .. Again ... Even in dynamic !!

Thanks for the Wunderlich suggestion ... Fitted one on old bike ... Lost a bolt :blast.... Didn't lock tight it !!!

I must say ... If I'd test rode one ... I doubt I would have changed ... But I have .. So need to make it work for me

1. Yes the 2017 bike shift assist was a lot stiffer that my 2016 bikes. It improved substantially following the service and now with approx 1300 miles is better than the 2016 bikes
2. PUIG, you don't need the spoiler thing but you do need a screen support. The Givi one is fine and cheap.
3. Wunderlich.
4. If your last bike was Hilltopped with around 100+BHP, then you are around 5-10 BHP behind that with the new bike. Geoff will sort it.

1. You're not using shift assist properly. Read the manual.
2. Get a screen spoiler
3. Altrider
4. Get a full system. Go to Hilltop

Here endeth the lesson.;)

2; We are of similar height, I use a Schuberth C3 Pro, on faster roads I have the screen around 75% raised, on slower roads around 50% raised with no issues and no buffeting I can ride at 70mph with the chin bar raised quite comfortably.
3; I learned the hard way too ;)
4; I test rode one twice, my first impression was not how much faster the LC was over my TC but how effortless it was, I was always doing 10-20mph faster than I
thought I might be. Flat spot? I know what you mean but haven't experienced it on my LC which does admittedly have Akra headers and end can fitted, no it's not hilltopped and no it's not going to be hilltopped ;)
You may find your experience changes after you've had the 1st service done and the associated "new & running in" mental shackle is removed.

Really?
You think a hilltopped TC has more than 125hp?
A standard LC will comfortably outperform a lightly modded (exhaust and map) TC with ease.

Thanks

I'm not going to get into the Hilltopped willy waving debate

It felt better and took out the flat spot... So will get a few more miles under my belt and then review .

It won't. A standard LC gives around 95bhp ish at the wheel. A modded TC (full Akra Exhaust and map) gives 105bhp ish. Torque is better with a modded TC as well over a standard LC. A hilltopped standard LC will give around 111 - 115bhp and 10 more with a complete exhaust swap.

Complete Tosh :blast

Tight engine still @ 500 miles.

Worrying tho as I've got one on order, when I got my first wasserboxer in 2013 my 2012 twin cam GSA felt like a complete slug in comparison. Someone with an RT on here was saying his new bike felt gutless, Euro 4 woes?

The heavier flywheel made a difference compared with the 2013 regular GS (which I agree did fly). But sadly, yes Euro4 seems to have had an impact. My TB feels less lively than the 2016 Iconic and then Blue ones I had.

When I had my TC mapped by Geoff he confirmed they usually make more power then a stock WC and it deffo had more punch but the TC seems to flatten out where as the WC seems to rev a lot more.

I personally would not go down the full zorst route again on the WC, apart from visual appearance I don't think the marginal gain was worthy of the ££££ Especially when I've seen standard bikes only makes a couple of bhp less.

Remap - YES

Full Zorst - NO

So in essence he needs to spend £1500 + £350 to make his bike feel faster then his previous Twin Cam

Not at all. The OP hasn't said how he's running the new bike in. It's a brand new bike, with running in oil, and everything is tight. After a few miles, the new bike will be much livelier than the last bike, Hilltop/ full system, or not.

Your right it's lively ... But that flat spot is very evident at mid revs !!

I've ran it in like all my others... Not gently but not thrashed... Used the torque through all the gears and mix of rev range ... Used it on mix of roads.. Not just tanked up a motorway ..
