It's much better than the disc brake that was used on Triumphs from 1973 onwards although I haven't used it in anger so to speak. It's a full-race brake intended for classic racing and I'm a bit wary of it being too much for the Dunlop TT100 front tyre although the weight of the Trident should help. I think the T500 brake is the same as the fitted to the T250 so has a bit more weight and speed to deal with. The 4 leading shoe brakes fitted to the GT550 and GT750 are great brakes too. The brake and clutch levers on the Trident are GT750 items.How does the 4ls performance compare to a disc brake? Certainly more visually pleasing.! It is a piece of art. Even my T500 brake looks good (but not very effective..!)
