Show us your Classic M/C

Owned this since 1976.
Old photo, but bike still looks the same. Except the engine is currently in bits, while I try to identify a strange noise........

Nice - I had one of those, once. Is that one 1970 or earlier?

Oh, and when checking for worrying engine noises, don't strip the engine too far before checking the tightness of the alternator rotor. :blast

(I was going to say DAMHIK, but you're welcome to ask :D)

...and it must have been about 1976 when I sold mine - it's not "FYJ xxxJ" by any chance?

I thought that fixing the alternator rotor key on mine would have solved the noise issue, but it didn't, unfortunately. :( (When I found the slack rotor I thought "Yipppeeeee".)
It's a 1968 one.

Laverda pic not opening for me but my odd SF1 story is that I bought one for my 19 year old girlfriend in about 1985.

she had only just passed her test on my DT175MX (registered as a 125:augie)

She never gone on with it (not suprisingly) and swapped it at Wheels international, Hockliffe. for a GPZ550

Wouldnt mind having it now !

Definitely not my old T120, then...

...good luck with the detective work.:thumb

My other half, Tim's beloved Jota - can get a bit noisy following this one!

My Laverda 3C and my daughter on the Hailwood Rep.

The DBD 34 Gold Star is currently spread through every cupboard in the garage but hopefully back on the road next year .:augie

he does ....... amongst others .....you know him ?

I met him on the A56 a few weeks back, his Triumph had wet the plugs and I stopped to see if he was OK. (I was in a Landcruiser) :thumb

Latest project

Got it off a mate 13000 miles in storage for the last 8 years.
Im not sure what to do with it yet.
Restore it to standard or Hayabusa \ Blackbird front - rear end conversion with a mono shock, braced frame etc.

Keep it standard ........

The upgrade route is overated as I know to my cost with Z1s ... they handle marginally better and are worth peanuts unless you spend zillions

The restoration route will break your heart and empty your wallet .... fast

Id get stuck in and get it mechanically perfect and detail it totally refinishing and cleaning bits as you go ... especially that cam cover :)

Lovely bike and good luck with it

Thanks for the comments, I am a compulsive engineer and have to force myself from getting stuck in.
I will give it a general clean up and get it running properly first.
I did see an Aprillia RSV going cheap the banana swingarm would look cool.

My 90S. Bought new in 1975 and sure glad I never sold it though often thought about it.
