Show us your Classic M/C

Well my classic is stripped down in boxes in the attic ... must get it down and rebuild it someday :thumb

But here's a piccie from the brochure just to whet your appetites

Mine has the straight handlebars and is blue in colour ... been all round Germany on it :rob

Bit different from today's mount Micky -are you thinking of getting one?: augie

These are mine: 1979 Z1000st,1978 Honda dax,1992 Ducati 907,1992 Honda Africa twin,1983 Yamaha RD350lc,1998 Ducati 916 and not wanting to leave them out 2008 Ducati Hypermotard and of course my beloved 2010 ADV

Nice bikes there, you must spend ages polishing them?

GS750 WES COOLEY COLOURS

Bought this from Jim E, last year, almost sold it, then decided to spruce it up a little and keep it as it ran so well :).

Tim

good looking bike, always wanted something like that.

Snap. New addition to the stable, 1957 Norton Model 50 350cc, to run alongside the '59 BSA B31.
:D

I had trouble gelling with the Commando to begin with but now the weather is better and I have ridden a couple of hundred miles I am starting to get what it is all about.

I sold a m/c I didn't ride a few weeks back to make a bit of space in the garage. The guy who wanted the bike said he needed to move on a m/c to make room for the one he was buying off me............................:blast:D

So I got rid of one m/c and picked up another: it's a 1962 Norton 99 Dominator with the slimline frame. These are not that common apparently as they were not that popular when new and many were made into Tritons. 2 previous owners to the gent I purchased it from, who had owned it for 28 yrs. Its been changed to look like the 650SS and has the 650SS head fitted with high compression pistons. Concentric carb fitted and Borrani aluminium wheel rims. Even come with the original transferable number plate which is a bonus.

I was going to ebay it, but after taking some pictures I decided it will be my project next winter. Trouble is, I know very little about these machines so I have a bit to learn. It hasn't been run for over 10 yrs.

So it looks like I'm not going to get my hands on your Commando then? :D

The 650's nice but that's got to be the mother of all speedo cables.

4S cam for the commando and a Mikuni carb and you'll start to see the light.

This is my mates, He's had it for years - just ignore the tacho cable

Give us a shout next time you are this way: You can give me a hand to get the Dommie started....................:D:D:D

ISTR my 650SS had a twin carb head, your pic looks like single carb - you going to run two?

I haven't given it much thought to be honest. I don't want to spend a fortune on it and the bike came with the single carb, so I will probably keep that. If the engine turns out to be a bit smoky/knackered (and I think it will) I will probably put standard pistons back in rather then the high compression type presently fitted.
I don't intend to restore the bike too much or return it to how it was originally: I think I will get the bike mechanically sound and running smoothly and let it show its 50 years and just ride it.
Unless I wake up one day and come to my senses. In which case, I will sell it on ebay for another mug to waste weeks and £s on :D

The O ring in there has perished and needs replacing, it's been like that for at least 5 years. He's had the bike for 28 years so you can't rush these things..
