My fat cow atop Mont Vetoux just 3 days ago. Fantastic views from up there. Great trip! Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I've just about finished getting the new GS ready for its first foreign trip - a short tour of Brittany in a couple of weeks. This is a bit of a test for the new luggage in preparation for a more extensive tour in August taking in Western Spain and Portugal for a couple of weeks, then across the Pyrenees to the Barcelona area for a week.

Thank you pall, yes luggage is Givi trekker Outback. 42l top box, 37l exhaust side pannier and 48l pannier on the other side. I like quick release system unlike BMW with its 6 locks just on panniers. Bummots are great too but a bit of a faf taking on and off the top box. Otherwise panniers and top box fit straight on to BMW racks.

Don't try to spare my feelings then!
I think they look OK, although they are not my first choice. I had ordered the new Shad SH35 panniers in March, and they kept getting delayed until they eventually admitted they wouldn't be available until September. I think they will suit the bike better when I get some.
Looks like an RT can to me...

Thanks Nick, and yes I have written to Shad complaining about being misled regarding availability for this summer, and suggesting they do some sort of discount or trade-in for people like us who have had to buy the older models. Having said that, now that I have fitted the titanium colour covers to both top box and panniers I think it looks OK.

As some one else (richardbd) has correctly stated it is the end can and heat shield from the RT. Fitted perfectly and just needed an extension to the hanger bracket.
