Show us your K bike

Ahh, after a few lustful summers on board a fabulous Ducati Monster 1100 Evo, my 1990 K100RS 16v has been completely ignored.

Reading this has prompted me to order a new Odyssey battery & service kit from Motorworks, blow some air into the hoops & give her a dusting off.

Picking up a modified K100RS later this week. Fairing lowers/belly pan/side panels for an 1100 tacked on but seems to handle well enough (only rode it for a few miles). Does feel a bit less powerful than my last 100RS, but that was red :D

Usual K "cheap as chips" price so worth a go. Sometimes you get a good 'un, sometimes not. Too old to worry :rob

How nice to find a K-section in here! :D In my 40+ years of riding all kinds of motorcycles I must say that my 24 years old Ex-Police "Flying Brick" is at the very top of the heap regarding comfort and pure riding fun. It´s not the most powerful bike out there and it´s not the best handling bike out there, but when you ride it for hours and hours, day on end, everything clicks together somehow and it´s pure fun.

Nice one TIV, I'll be in Iceland next summer so will keep an eye out for your bike :beerjug:

Inspired by MikeP's posts :bow and also others after selling my G650X-Challenge I have recently purchased a K75. It was an RT but the previous owner had taken the fairing off. It came with a low seat and I have now fitted a standard seat but am missing the seat lock. It also now has a new Realm Engineering rear shock.

My 1990 K100RS 16v is now running nicely - though those flashing ABS lights are doing my swede in. Tried a 'middle plug' reset alas to no avail :blast. May solve the problem with some strategically placed duck tape :augie

I still like it. I think it has aged well - though after spending so much time on my Ducati Monster 1100 Evo, it really is like manhandling a bus :D

Riding my K1100RS is as you say like manhandling a bus however for me that's part of the fun. A GS is so easy to ride and forgiving whereas to ride the K bike quickly requires some skill and ability. I certainly get off mine knowing I've been just had to ride the thing rather than just sit on it. I've had problems resetting the ABS lights on mine in the past. I found out after a while that its very fickle with the earth when resetting via the diagnostics plug - I ended up connecting a wire permanently to a frame bolt to do that job.

I have 2 K's now.
I'm in the middle of a K100R project and I've just picked up the black K1200RS. It's only done 26000 miles but it's been stood exposed to the elements and it's suffered. It will take a lot of effort but I hope it will be worth it.
