Sid’s and Gedinne

Tuesday and the final run to home.

There was a decent length queue at passport control, which is perhaps unusual for a morning crossing from France to England. But I’m in no rush and all the staff are cheery. A bikermate received a bollocking and was inserted back in the queue (behind where he came from) by the police, which was amusing to watch.

Now on the train and we are off:

You had to be towed?

GT Towing is a very good trailer / tow bar outfit, just off the A1; I have used their services for years.

As I was close to the A1, I dropped by to ask a question about the tow hook on the vehicle. It is high up, which might well make towing a twin-axel car trailer tricky. You can get a dropdown plate for tow hitches, but mine has odd sized bolt holes, larger than those on say, an AlKo chassis. I probably need a German retailer.

Having some extra equipment fitted Richard?

No.

I am happy enough with the additions I have got, being the levelling rams, the external gas point, the three pin socket in the storage area and the longer electric step(s). Of these, the ‘must do’ item is the rams; then the step(s).

I had toyed with the idea of air conditioning in the rear but have written it off. Likewise, a Starlink system, I have written off, too.

Starlink is blooming expensive if you want a mobile system.
