Starlink is blooming expensive if you want a mobile system.

Indeed so, which was part of what put me off it. Though I did read that you can ‘de-tune’ it when not in use.

That said, it was the realisation that most of Europe has very good 4 / 5 G signal and eSIMs are cheap. Along with, I don’t watch much streaming TV when away. It’s cheaper (and generally more beneficial) to read a book or to get out and about.

I was talking with a Dutch bloke at the racing. His van came with air conditioning in the rear.

Despite using the vehicle vehicle regularly over the past five years, he told me he rarely uses the air conditioning system, regarding it as a waste of money. So much so, he is taking his unit out to sell and replacing it with a simple roof mounted fan or a standard roof light.

Thats why i put a second wifi aerial on my small van to do exactly that.
When i go to norway ill get a local sim etc......

I would think differently. I went over to France a few years ago in my camper van when a heatwave struck. My van wasn’t equipped with air-con, either as a dashboard addition to the ventilation, or as a roof mounted independent system for the habitation area. I came away really wishing that I had one, the other,or indeed both.

Do you mean the cylinder head protectors ? Prevent damage if you drop it, same idea as the ones on a BMW
