Has anyone fitted a side stand enlarger to a factory lowered suspension MU 2016 GSA?

I have tried a couple and they don't fit on my bike. Of all the farkles/shit i fitted on my last bike this was probably the one of the most useful.

Don't bother, bike is too upright and a bitch if your bike is fully loaded as it still catches the ground, I have the Wunderlich one which is made for lowered GS/A's. If you do get one I advise to keep the bike in the luggage mode so you get more lean on it.

It's manageable is solo mode just be careful, not worth bothering with imo.

I've got the same Wunderlich one and you do have to be a bit careful. I got it as I occasionally need to park on rough/soft ground and it gives a bit more stability. As Mr A says it does make the bike a bit too upright. On the plus side it's a doddle to get it off the side stand with a full tank and a load of luggage.

Thanks, I've got a lowered GS on order so will cross this farcle off my list!

Littleade, you can put it back on your list, I had the Wunderlich 'lowered' pad on my low GS for 12,600 miles with no issues at all, it's now on my low GSA. If you need more lean on a bad surface press a button and raise the bike.:thumb2

Thanks...there was me thinking I'd saved a few quid! Oh well what's the odd farcle compared to the cost of a TE!

As the old joke goes....... back on my head....

Hi guys and thanks for the replies. My original question still stands. Has anyone fitted a side stander extender on a MU 2016 lowered suspension GSA? I cannot get one to fit on mine and so i believe the lower end of the side stand is a different shape for 2016.

Dario, Have you actually tried the Wunderlich pad that is listed for the lowered GS-LC onto your 2016 GSA, the one from my 2014 GS-LC is a perfect fit onto my lowered 2015 GSA and I would be surprised to find that the side stand pad on the 2016 GSA bike is any different to the 2015 GSA?

A BIT TOO UPRIGHT

This translates as likely to roll forward off the stand, by putting a bigger foot on your making this worse, I dont think theres much need for a bigger foot on this bike Dario.
Just remember to leave it in gear when on the sstand:rob

If you park on rough ground, a stand foot it a good idea, but as others have said, the bike hardly leans when it's on the stand. Raise the bike up when your park, if there's not much lean, and remember to ALWAYS leave it in gear when on the side stand, regardless of camber.:rob

Yes Batman and it did not fit. Sold it to my make who has 2015 MU lowered suspension GS and it fitted his bike no problem. Looks like i will have to do without. As other have mentioned maybe better without.

Thanks for all your input chaps.

Side and main

Interesting, is the 2016 side stand possibly a tad shorter than the previous version? My 2015 lowered GSA could do with a few mm off the side stand and circa 20 mm off the main stand.

It needs to be on max preload for an acceptable lean on the side stand and it is impossible to get on the mainstand when fully loaded. No, it's not me as I could easily get both previous models on without trying.

Maybe the 2016 model has been lowered properly?

Cheers
Harry

Yes, it appears that the side and main stand are shorter on the lowered 2016 GSA. Dario is right, the side stand foot is slightly longer than on the 2015, so it will not fit.
I had the Wunderlich pad on my 2014 GS, but I am thinking of living without a pad on my new GSA since it is slightly larger, just have to be careful on soft ground. :rob
