just been offered a squire chair thats fitted to an r75/7 , thinkin of putting it on my 100 pd .
does anybody know if the brackets will fit .

they can,t be a million miles away ?? .

can they ?? .

cheers .

You`ll struggle with getting a decent lower rear sidecar chassis mounting on a bike with a single sided swinging arm...ie Monolever or Paralever.... because of the absent bit of frame loop where the pillion pegs would have gone.
Look where your PD pillion pegs are for illustration and compare with the sidecar mountings.

It`s feasible of course, but will likely need a very strong 'subframe' section.

brackets

see what you mean , last time i played with a chair was on an a10 30 yrs ago . i,m sure iv,e seen photos of para outfits on here , anybody got a link or some photos .

ps havn,t seen chair yet , jus talked to man on phone .

There`s a fair few Airhead and Oilhead Beemer combos about.

Have a look on ADVrider in the Hacks section for inspiration...:thumb2

The job won`t be a massive one,but it`s just not going to be as straightforward as on a twin shock bike.

It may be just my luck - but I saw a turquiose one at the Horizon Unlimited
and was gonna take a picture but dint have time/I forgot :blast
Someone else may have snapped it :thumb2

Put a post on HU site someone will give the info for sure

Just picked this one up today:augie...will need Tarka to show me how to ride it now !!!:bounce1

Needs steering head bearings ( Brassmonkey, you watching :D ) and if anyone has a red right side panel, ahem, please pm me:)

Not sure what is meant here:nenau, cause the rear fitting's fit on the main frame:thumb and should'nt go anywhere near the sub-frame or pillion peg bracket.

Should be like mine here - http://www.bmbikes.org.uk/Forum/download/file.php?id=1462&mode=view

It is a Squire ST2.

What I was saying is clear if you read my post properly.
I was saying that the rearmost main frame point on the PD is perhaps a tad forwards of the ideal postion for the rear lower fixing,as opposed to the mounting on a twin shock chassis...as per on my Urals.

I was not saying to use the PD pillion peg bracket or the PD subframe as they`re clearly not up to the job.

P.S. Your link`s no good.......not accessible to non P & S members. :augie

Nick

I know that...:thumb2

I also know that Mono/Para combos have been done.

I was originally enlightening 'Toadjam' as to the differences between the twinshock chassis he`s on about and the bike he owns.

I do still reckon that the lower rear mounting is a bit forwards of the ideal on the Mono/Para ones which have been done, however.

adv

looked on adv rider and found one , a guy from aus . he made his own brackets up .
i,d like to see some photos of kenny,s new toy .
might just buy chair and play about with welder .

(not on me frame by the way )

I'm still in the dark as what you mean.

The 'mono' main frame look's to me the same as my twin shock main frame (I have both). The only difference I can see is the sub-frame and swing arm.

What is it I'm missing?

On a Mono or Paralever bike, the rear nearside footrest is fixed to the exhaust silencer rather than a bracket that is part of the main frame on a twinshock bike. Whilst fixing the rear footrest to the silencer is fine, fixing the lower rear sidecar arm to the same point is not. Hence the need for a rear subframe............... With a continental sided chair, this is not a problem as a proper bracket / fixing point is already in place

My Hedingham conversion has four brackets..you can see the rearmost lower is welded just above the footrest mount :)

Obviously there are no more rear mounting places to weld/attach to !!

Hope this helps:thumb2
