Thought i would let you all know , i ordered some bits from Siebenrock before Christmass . They sent the parts via DHL who promptly returned the parts to them saying that at present they are not delivering to the UK due to covid 19 . Siebenrock are holding my order awaiting more info from DHL.

Well Steve,it isn’t only DHL...
All mail via Hermes and others have been suspended until further notice..
Apparently you need the bill available on the outside of the goods eg in a clear plastic sleeve and also some other paperwork to be filled in....if it gets all going again.
Long live Brexit, and that’s by the way only the beginning.
That’s the latest news from my contacts but try and mail something to Europe from the UK and you will find it’s all shut down at present too.

So is it Brexit or Covid 19 or is Brexit responsible for Covid 19.

It's purely down to brexit - nothing else.

These EU companies have to collect duties and vat at source and of course register for UK vat. This is an additional cost to them.

I pointed this out on another thread a few days ago because I'd had a similar experience.

The ********** poo poo'd this and all but called me a liar.

I think its down to Brexit. After i got the e mail from Siebenrock i looked on the DHL website and it just said that there were only delays not a suspension of services to the UK.

Yes Steve - its delayed until those companies (who still wish to export to the UK) go through the process of registering for UK vat.

Hope we don't get to many more nice surprises.
Still its rumered that there is a deal being done for the Uk to export "fish and chips " to India in return for Software !:D

So was the original poster told porkies then about Covid. So don't buy from Europe until they sort their crap out. Nothings going to change, so best we dry our eyes and get on with it.

Its working like that both ways. Tried to order some Yumove tabs for our pooches and they will no longer send to the EU.

I don't see the problem:nenau
Surely they could just send stuff as an export to a non-EU country with a customs declaration, ex-VAT and let the HMRC sort it or the Zollampt in the other direction.
Shouldn't the same apply as if it were going to Australia or the USA?

Its all bollocks.

That's fine in principle ..... but where do we get our Boxer Supplies, Siebenrock, CMSL etc. parts?

Depends if this will be the case forever or is a blip. It really isn't the end of the world is it? It will sort itself out. Get a van and go get the bits yourself

Unfortunately we can't do that.

We are on Plague Island without freedom of movement anymore.

But let's keep positive - if they continue, or resume supplies, it'll only be a bit more expensive than it is now........ £ and all.

It’s the end of the line now, buying single items from the EU. Customs charges alone between the EU and Uk are £100 per delivery.
Today I spent 5 minutes selling our products, and 5 hours doing the paperwork. The goods are (seafood) is still sitting in the transport depot waiting for T firms and Health Certificate. It should be in France for tomorrow, but looks like it will be Wednesday now. I have had to register my company in France for Vat, to allow us to submit returns monthly instead of at the port of departure. It’s a total ballache, and I can’t be arsed with it.
So much for cutting down on red tape!
Cheers
Dave
