Siebenrock - not shipping to UK

Maybe start making stuff in Britain (again) ??

Bob.

Great idea Bob. I hope it happens. The huge irony is that the people behind Brexit (the Tory right wing/ free marketeers/libertarians) are the exact same people behind Thatcher in the 80s. The “no such thing as society”, “doesn’t matter how we make money as long as we make money” red braces brigade!

Happy New Year btw! :beerjug:

Get cracking then. Look forward to seeing your .co.uk website selling UK-made genuine Siebenrock parts soon.

Trust me - I'm pretty sure Bob could do just that if so inclined. I'll not embarrass him by saying more. Back off, Tiger! :D

On another front, it would appear that UK digital subscription services such as Sky, Netflix etc are no longer available in the EU.

Marine stuff is still coming in from Holland and Belgium. So some companies are making it work (Mercury/Mariner, Yanmar) and Selva from Italy, no prolem other than slight port delay due to fewer crane drivers, that is covid related through personal quarantine requirements. Adding a week to the container, ish.

They never were... Legally. netflix.de works just fine. I wouldn't give Sky the drip of the end of my nose.

Not so in my understanding . The single market applied to digital services so a UK sub could be used across the EU: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify etc. Users trying to access their UK accounts from EU ISP accounts will now get a notice telling them these are no longer available. A gain for EU based providers certainly.

Get a vpn client then

The whole point of the single digital market was to avoid that! Along with abolishing roaming charges etc.

Well big news, we are not in the EU anymore. Roaming charges only changed a couple of years ago.

My Siebenrock order before Christmas was also returned by DHL and I'm still in the EU.
Siebenrock said it was because DHL were not handling packages over a certain size (new solo seat and rack) till after the Christmas rush.
I got an email yesterday saying that it's back with DHL for shipment again.
Cheers
Fran

That. Same with SWT-Sports, Herbert Gletter, and other European suppliers.

DHL again...

I ordered a few bits and bobs from Motoren Israel on 16th December. Order auto confirmed but I heard nothing further until yesterday - when I was informed that DHL had allowed the parcel to get so wet that it had to be returned to sender...
No criticism of Motoren, who have now repackaged and re-sent, but less than stellar performance by DHL.

Given that Brexit has now kicked in I've got no idea what will happen at the border re (already paid!) VAT never mind import duties/fees. Anybody know for sure - I can find no useful confirmed information? And that's assuming that DHL actually manage to deliver it...
I await developments with interest.
