Is brake light on ?? Trapped switch possibly??
If the system does not "see" both switches it will flash a fault and NOT initialise the ABS

Sadly no brake lights on at all until either lever is pulled/pressed
Pull front nothing, brake lights grand
Tap the rear and on comes the servo and then the front will begin to operate the servo but only after the dabbing of the rear gets it going
One thing I did notice was the servo sounded Strained
Can I rip it out now

I had been waiting for an excuse to get rid of it.
The last thing I want on a 4 week trip in July is the hassle of it playing up or going completely.
Don't want to drop to residual braking 2 up fully loaded on some pass up the pyrenees.
What do you reckon?

Look up couple of posts above you exactly the same happened to mine, only touching back brake got the front to whine ! ripped it all out no problems 2 weeks ago and brakes are as good and lost the slight rear brake binding i had with the crap abs fitted.

No more abs or servo etc etc and no more fkn servo whining!!
Bulb out from idiots light, and relay out.
Removed all redundant pipe work.
Removed and split the servo kept the electrics, covered them with a home made plate, a zip bag for extra waterproof and wrapped it in some rubber (cheers for that tip DrF) for shock/vibes. Zip tied in and plugged cable back in. Break lights all good.
Did exactly as described and did NOT cut any wires!!!
Sorted the pipe work out to the front and rear, bled, all good, not tested on the road yet but I will.
Removed the abs rings and sensors less the rear sensor which needs to reamin elst oil would piss out of the FD/Bevel box, not good!
Last point with regards to the front brake pipework.
I have braided hoses and it was tight to try and twist them to the required angle to fit together, I chinned that part off and got a brake line splitter (see pic below)
Other than that no cost to me, even got my dot4 free
Happy with it and thanks to all those chaps for posting this type of info, £12 a year? pffffft bargain!!!!!!

i do mine every 6 months only time i get the warning light is when the pads are warn out. im still thinking about removing it tho

Exactly how I did my pipework. Hope you got ya local garage to knock that up rather than pay Motorworks for their £30 effort (which I believe is exactly the same).

They must have dropped the price, I'm sure it was much dearer than that when I did mine, hence I got the local garage to knock one up. They did it for free, but I threw the guy a fiver to buy himself a drink.
I read all the threads on servo removal in fear I'm gonna have to do it one day. But I've had two occasions this year already where it came in and did its job. Made potential 'events' into total non-events. So I'm from the camp who kinda likes my servo!
I'm just about to change all the fluids again for its yearly flush...which leads me to a question. But I'll start another thread for that.

I'm glad in a way that my abs went tits last Sunday whilst static and not on some eurojaunt.
Wouldn't want it doing that that whilst at speed.
It's been niggling in my mind for months as I'm sure yours is too.
If it hadn't of decided to shit it's balls out i would have been more than happy to keep it but I couldn't justify the repairs or replacment.
Never used the abs in anger either so will I miss it? Hopefully not
Far too much hassle and far too much ££££ to fix.
Keep it till it goes then ditch it is my advice
