Site Keeps Timing Out

Is the board supposed to time out after a certain period?

I've been away for 4 days and on returning to this hallowed site found that I had 20 pages to read (I'll come on to this issue in a mo). As I love reading all of the ramblings on here (it appears that it's not all bollox) it does take me a while to reach the end BUT I can never get there. After a while, not sure of exactly how long, a page comes up stating "Sorry no matches. Please try some different terms".

Is there a box somewhere I should be ticking OR un-ticking to stop this? It's frustrating as I have to keep going back to the beginning page and start from scratch.
The other thing I've noticed is that the maximum number of pages you can get or go back to is 20, even as in my case I pressed the 'New posts in last 4 days' and get 20 pages. I also tried reading 'New posts in last 10 days' and still only got 20 pages. I am obviously missing loads of stuff being short changed in pages.
Any ideas?

a webpage TIMES OUT when it is inactive for a period of time....the TIME OUT also occurs when a page request address cannot connect in a certain amount of time...after your pc requests the address and the connection to the address is down or the servers are to busy at this time.
