I'm setting up Skype for my mum (technoidiot) and have seen some usb phones on eBay for around a tenner.

I like the idea of the skype phone for her as I can't see her getting her head round using speakers/mic.

Does anyone have any experience of these or other 'headsets'?

I'm currently using a Linksys Dect telephone. You plug in a USB dongle in your computer, load Skype, and then you can call/Receive Skype calls from the cordless handset. Very easy to use.

Next step is Netgear who is releasing their Skype handset. This one doesn't even need a computer since it works on WiFi. So if you've got a wifi router, you use the handset all the time. You can even use it away from home, in airports, railroads etc, anywhere you've got WiFi.

An alternative is Siemens who have a Skype dongle that allows you to use Skye on Siemens Dect handsets.....

Fil, I have one here in the cafe if you want to pop in to have a look at it!

It's a lot better than the headphones BTW...
