okay, i dunno how to do the poll thingy.

where does your bike sleep?
outside,
under a cover,
in a garage,
in the kitchen (assuming you have a very wide back door),
in the lounge,
in the bedroom.

Outside under a cover

Yep Toucan over here a garage is a very rare comodity if you can afford it in London. I have found most SA friends astonished to find a Porche Boxer, Lotus, Jaguar x8 etc standing in our street uncovered through all 4 seasons. Ok I lied there is only two seasons here - winter and autumn :)

When I first bought a bike in the UK absolutely paranoid about leaving it outside but now after 4 years used to it. I can only imagine if the same type of cars was standing overnight in JHB the thiefs would have a royal field day and a few very unhappy owners the next day. ;)

In a shed............................ do you want to see it !!!

the thiefs aren't picky anymore, they'll steal anything.

i was wondering about the rain and weather affecting the bike. my old airhead (R80ST) gets water in the gearbox via the speedo cable. i used to ride it everyday so corrosion in the box wasn't much of a problem.

does the ADV get water in anywhere that can cause problems?
(besides the oil light)

Bikes live in a garage, the car lives outside, got to get your priorities right.:D

Hey Mav, a Londoner with a garage. upmarket or what:D

I might shift the bikes and rent the space to 40 asylum seekers:eek: :D

All I can think off is the bevel drive if it gets submersed in water. You can however fit a bevel breather with pipe to the upper part of the frame to bypass this posibility.

if you read Mick Fagan's reply in this thread it would give you a better idea..

Think the pics are out of sync as this was done long ago.

cheers
