There is the seaweed baths in strand hill,ur wife mite like that, there's a bird show thing in tubbercurry, which is gud,if ur interested in that kinda stuff..

to the waters and the wild...
Glencar Waterfall over in Leitrim.

Beach @ Strand Hill for me

When you get to the beach if you walk to the right there's a lovely stroll down along the beach/dunes to a church ruin called killasbegbrone. You've to walk a cross the end of the runway (Sligo airport) but there's a turnstile to let you through. Nice easy one for a pregnant wife. Also if she goes to the seaweed baths I'd recommend strandjill surf school for yourself.
There's a rake of other great walks/treks but probably not for someone expecting. Bistro Bianconi in Sligo town does a amazing food. Mcgarragles pub for live music.

Absolutely, awesome place

In my experiance of Sligo , its a very Expensive wee town ,in comparison to ,,,say ,, Derry ,
both to eat and stay in.
But its a nice wee town ,
Recently , whilst working in sligo , i had a "pick up" in strandhill , which
i had never been to before , it struck me as a lovely retreat to pass a day ..
The seaweed baths are a bit boring , and you are not allowed to take a
partener in with you , 1 bath ,1 person.

My Mrs went to look at the seaweed bath and gave it a miss. I think she fancied some kind of luxurious thing with soft music and angels flying around but she said it was "just a bath with seaweed in it."

There's a nice drive around lough gill which isn't too far away. You can take a nice boat trip around it too (maybe seasonal, don't know)

We always liked Rosses point. Pub called Austie's does seafood.

Eating!!

Make sure you eat at a Resteraunt call Donaghys coach lane. They have amazing bar food or a slightly more formal Resteraunt upstairs. Be sure to try the ribs or wings ( house speciality). Tell them Enda sent you!
If you (and she!) are up to it afterwards have a pint in a little pub called "shoot the crows". It's Guinness and atmosphere are the stuff of legend! Look for the owner, ronan (ponytail!!), and he'll fill you in on all the good stuff to see around sligo!
Next time bring the bike and we will take you on some of the best roads and trails in Ireland!

Good man.
May well take you up on that in the future.

Hey all.
Great time had. Donaghys foood and guiness superb. Spectcular countryside and beaches.
We staye at the radisson blu on the road to rosses point. Excellent hotel good food great pool and spa.As always we used Supervalue getaway breaks. 3 nights b and b and 1 evening meal with exchange rate came in at £160 for both of us, hard to beat, especially what i put away for breakfast every morning.
Thanks again for tips
