SLM CATERHAM

Picked up new 1200GS yesterday from SLM, originally went to local dealer in Essex for part ex and price. Salesman had condescending attitude, made to feel that he was doing me a favour taking my money - he did - I walked through the exit.

Week or so later tried SLM after reading good feedback from this forum - walked in met Chris Gussman, no approach or pressure forthcomming, simply 'need any help please ask, would you like a coffee?'

Found a bike I fancied spent 20 mins or so with Chris sorting out part ex etc, unable to agree final figs. Chris promised to ring me at home that afternoon with best possible price, which he did, and I accepted over the phone.

Bike picked up yesterday, ready as promised, locks on existing varios re-keyed free of charge to suit new bike, and copious quantities of coffee offered. Big thank you to Chris, katie, and Simon for all help and advise.

Will be returning to SLM for service etc, and will post findings.

Iv used that said Essex dealer for the service on my 1150gsa,wasnt impressed with their attitude,went to vist slm and gotta say they were real nice guys and they will be getting my bike for service when its due...

After reading here of Vaders plight very soon after i got my 1200, i decided SLM would be the ones to do all the servicing on her, since then have always had a good service and told everything that needs doing, is recommended to be done and kept informed through out her stay.
Recently my ignition barrel decided to corrode and die a sudden death, BMuW decided the Essex dealer was nearer than SLM (even though i mentioned its the only place the bike should go) and took her off there, 4 days to change an ignition barrel!!! never a returned call,wasnt even informed they recieved the bike (happened on a monday, there shut mondays), wasnt put back together right (side panel had tubes hanging out the bottom and the bike was left dirty , now i know i was right to choose SLM and will continue to do so.

Did you get a feedback form for the breakdown

If they don't get feedback about the service, how will they know what's going on apart from visiting sites like this

Nope no feedback form, nothing theres your keys mate its down stairs. Hence i wont be visiting the Essex dealer quickly again.
