Slow acceleration and I can't remember why

My 2008 GSA clutch was slipping at high rpm occasionally for the past few years. It seems there are a few 2008 GSA's with this issue.

I recently bought the (very expensive) parts and replaced the entire clutch myself, although everything appeared fine on strip down save for a burr on the clutch pushrod which I removed with a fine oilstone and some very slight glazing to the plates.

I would recommend you bleed the clutch slave cylinder and check the hydraulic hose routing before paying for a clutch change.

My bike was split last summer. I'd already spent a fortune on the FD, driveshaft powder coat and numerous new bearings so took a chance on the clutch. It measured at 60% (or less) worn so should be fine for a while. I didn't open the clutch plates - again costs but did carefully paint some ACF-50 on the quite rusty pressure plate frame. Sure enough when I got the bike running again the clutch slipped, but it quickly settled down and has been fine ever since.

There was probably a smidgen of oil contamination, but it does make me feel the standard friction plate is only just up to the job. Its such a shame the alternatives are either vapourware (RSR) or cost silly money (Touratech).
