Smoke on cold start up 2014

Anyone had this happening to their LC ?
Got the bike in June 2014 with no problems, serviced at 600 miles by BMW.
Everything ok after service no smoke nothing.
Went a trip to Europe and did over 4000 miles with no problems apart from it falling off side stand after the third day. Still no smoke or any other issues after start ups on the whole trip.
Gets home lays bike up for a week or so then starts it up loads of blue smoke but it was diminishing up to a minute later.
Took it a short run of 20 miles or so parks it up for a couple of days and then starts it up again with the same results blue smoke heavy initially then slowly disappears. It also happened a third time. The bike has done 6000 miles.
Informs BM and was told to bring it in. On the day I took it in Friday 17th Oct there was no smoke at all Toothache Dentist scenario.
Was told by mechanic that he has never experienced this on an LC but it was common on previous models.
The bike is with them at present and I've not heard anything so far but its still early days.
Not too happy about it as I have had many new bikes all be it in-line 4s over my time and none have had this kind of problem.

Are you leaving the bike for long periods on the side, or centre stand?

Tried it on side stand then centre stand didn't make any difference. The last time was on side stand and that's the day I took it to BM and it didn't smoke

The dreaded side stand roll ! Must be good business for BM.

My TC would smoke if left on the side stand for long periods, due to oil draining from the left pot, but no big issue.

There's not a lot of oil in the pots when you take the covers off, but I'm sure if left on the side for long periods you'd get abit of oil draining thro, but should not happen when left on the main stand ?

ffs, cant you even leave this bike on a stand now !! is it on the side stand is it on the main stand lol this is getting ridiculous, i personelly drain all the oil out of mine after every ride so theres no smoke on start up simples




now i know why i dont come on here anymore lol

Idont know if it's the same on the wc but there is a crank breather pipe that connects to the air box, when they go over it can put oil in the air box And give you that problem. Or it could be fucked.

It never smoked after it was picked up from the fall or for the rest of the 4k trip. Any oil in the airbox would have been sucked through in that time.
