SNOW RUN THIS YEAR?

Plan B

With the weather getting worse and the forecast of snow for Powys.

I think it best if we postpone this run until next weekend, not worth the risk of an accident.

Sat or Sun 7/8 Jan 06

Steve and me are up for either, so its up to the rest of you.

Majority decision.

cheers

Gerry H.

Its now snowing in Pentrych 2pm, and the good King Wencelas is knocking my door, if he's still there in the morning count me out,(sorry, but had a v-big sideways moment two weeks ago on the salt/slime) up for the following weekend anyday suits as the wifey will be shopping still :thumb

I cleaned my bike today in anticipation of a ride out tomorrow. It's only three months old and despite the 3000miles I've put on the clock, pristine. Dont fancy putting her over on a bend so count me out unless we're struck by a mini heat wave! Merry christmas and a prosperous new year to you all!

P.s Jan 7th or 8th sounds good to me.

Just seen the BBC News 24 weather report
Looks like snow then rain right on top of our route.
BUGGER!
Can't make the 8th either. Double BUGGER!

Steve B

ps
Wish I was in Canada now

If postponed until 7th or 8th would love to come along.

Worcester Plan B - 30th

Worcester contingent - PLAN B

Hylton Road depart - 1030
Crossgates - 1145'ish can meet anyone else wanting a ride out...
then we'll decide to head into the mountains or not...or simply have a second bacon sandwich and return home.

Whyzat then Steve? :)

Prefer the dry cold, the roads don't come to a standstill after 2 -3 snowflakes, mountains, champagne snow, snowboarding down mountains, plenty of room as it's the second largest country in the world and has less population than the UK, what a country to ride an 1150 around......I could go on.

I'm OK for either Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th (would have to brake-away mid afternoon if its Saturday but it would still definately be do-able!)

Just to let you know,I've been out on my own snow run,and it was ace.5.5 hours,250 miles and just wet roads really.Only one moment which was self induced(made I larf ) Anyhow, minging bike back in the garage, where it can stay now until the new year, and I'm off to the bints place for another party or two.

I guess I'll see all you nice boys who are afraid of a bit of weather next weekend then :ymca Maybe it will be sunny for you ;)

Have a good un,see you next year :beerjug: (even though you're all softy tossers)

great ride today, next Sunday fine for me !!

Didnt see ya' Vern' :bow :nenau ?????
I wonder where the 10-30 am depart possee were in Worc's...I diligently stopped at Jun 5. detoured into Worcester not a #####er  in sight.
Poor chaps, bit of slippy stuff obviously scares em off !!! :D
Went on to Abergavenny whre there were another 10 or so folks not worried about getting there bikes dirty. Alex' and I then went off for a nice 100 mile or so circuitous route :thumb back to Hopwood(Redditch). Wet feet prevailed as did 3 pairs of gloves, but a brill' day out. :clap
So, we'll be up for doing the same thing next Sunday .................. regardless of typical English weather, oh and the bikes clean up quite well actually :D

so I wasn't the only nutter today :o - yes I was at Hylton Road at 1030'ish...then I rode to Crossgates - the only bike in the car park...then sort of went back on the reversed snow run route just in case someone was travelling up from A'gvny...then after half an houtr of that I headed home via some very small lanes (the marvels of SatNav - home - shortest route...)

So wet, not icy, foggy in places, sun when I got home!!!!

I thought I was the only sad old git - but there's always someone else... :thumb

PS
what's the etiquet when catching up a funeral car followed by a small convoy? I turned off and tried another route rather than batting past in the rain!

Well Done

glad you had a decent ride out.

I ended up working all day.

See you all next Sunday rain or shine :D

cheers

Gerry

Sorry - can't make it on Sunday :tears so yesterday's solo event will have to do!
