And I run the lawnmowers dry and the Mrs fills them up the next week to do a final final last mow of the season because I didn't do a good enough job. Then she wonders what I'm doing with them like did she not do a good enough job? JJH
 
Some people tried that with outboard motors that were left for a month or so between usage, turned out that repeatedly wetting then drying the carb with fuel meant larger build ups of scale/varnish in the jets and passageways of the carburettors. Ok for winterising perhaps not so good for regular used, worth a thought!

I only use Super 97 now, in my bikes to make sure I use little or zero ethanol

Draining the carb seems to work for me
