Thrown it down the road, worn through the rocker cover & done emergency bush repair job with a twig to stop the oil leaking :D
Done similar myself on my R80GS in the Picos the other year - I used liquid metal to plug mine though ;)

Initially that sounds like a very good assumption, however I do notice a lack of oil residue or staining anywhere in the rocker cover so am wondering if there is another story afoot

(you watch me be completely wrong now:blast)

Looks like a brilliant Bodge to me :clap

A Bodger = a labourer who traditionally lived and worked in the forest, making chairs from felling trees :thumb2

Must have been a good impact speed looking at the state of the engine bars

Just a bit of a twigg picked up on a ride. Blow on it and it will come off.:blast

You were riding on someone's private land and they took a shot at you :eek.

The twig is plugging a bullet hole ;).

:nenau

Bob.

By the look of the engine bars you've been tanking down some deep rut & twatted a stone (or should that be a root?) in the ground

Voila...
