BTW, picked up my Slim last week - charcoal satin with V&H slip ons.

Looking to add saddlebags, a sprung seat (probably from the Crossbones) and dark indicator lenses - was hoping to add the 'turn signal visors' but I've been told they won't fit the Euro-spec bikes - apparently we have a different LED/bulb set up from the American models :(

Either way.... the RT is gonna have to go. Only had it a few weeks!

Ah, hello chap!

I was just wondering if those bags fit with the stock exhaust or if they sit too low (and woudl therefore rest 'on' them... and probably burn!)?

Thanks :)

Not sure chap but this picture might help :nenau

Yeah the stock exhausts sit higher so they won't work

Thanks anyway!

Ooooh ………. Thinking about one of these again . Had a look at one at my local dealer but 11000 miles and £15950 !
They will put it through the workshop and it will get all it needs , but seems a lot . Offered £8000 for my 06 Fat boy which is mint with 5500 miles . So £7500 or so to change . I love my Fat Boy but have always liked the soft tail slim since I tested one 6 years ago .
You guys who have one still like them ?

Slims seem to hold value very well…..and not many out there for sale

What do you prefer on the new one versus your old bike? Is it £7,500 of “extra” love? Could you improve your bike in the areas that you prefer for less money ?

That is exactley what my thoughts are . My Fat boy is mint with 5000 miles . I have owned it for 4 years and really looked after it . Polished the wheels and fork lowers to get rid of corrosion they get over the years . The STS is not worth an extra £7500 for what is admittedly a newer bike but with 11000 miles on it it needs a bit of love and a deep clean that the dealer will do . It is one of 3 bikes I have and riding it home from viewing the STS it is so nice I would be a fool to trade it .Its nice looking at bikes but sometimes the bike you have is the best one . Thanks for your input

But if you want it? then buy it ... You're a long time dead !

I have a new view on life -

Need it ? Buy it.

Want it ? ( Can afford it) Buy it.

( Can’t afford it) Don’t buy it

That’s it really.

Thanks guys . I will keep an eye out for a minter with low miles . I did that looking for the fat Boy and am happy with it . It needs to be a mint original low milage Soft tail slim for me .Twizzle you are right

Tried one last week and well .............................. not as nice to ride as my 06 Fat boy !! The price of these varies a lot and they are not twice what my bike is . I am going to keep the FB . The ear worm screaming for a Soft Tail Slim has shut up !!

That's interesting for me, as I am torn in between the Fat Boy and the Softail Slim (and others :D)...
What makes the FB better?

Was in the Harley dealer couple days ago and gutted to see they’ve discontinued Slim. It was my favourite because of minimalist design. Fatboy is now £23k ffs!!

Carbold . The FB feels a bit roomier , the seat is a bit higher and for me at 6 ft 6 it just fits a bit better than the slim . The Slim looks very cool a bit bobber but the seat leaves you feeling you will fall off the back at speed , The Fat Boy actually handles well , and will go pretty fast if you want , it’s all relative . It’s great to try different Harleys . I love em

I definitely want to make sure it's a comfortable ride for me and I don't feel cramped. The street bob I tried seemed very small to me, and my lower back was pushing on the back end of the seat, making it very uncomfortable
