Had my first service in mid June and had been experiencing a number of issues that were probably software related including screen shutdowns, erratic Nav 6 operation, slurred navigation speech, erratic TPS and fuel readouts. My dealer, Balderston's decided that a software update was required although it had proved a risky business for some. It was for me - the update crashed and the bike required a new dash - all sorted out, as you would expect by BMW and Balderston. However, with the software loaded and the new dash fitted, the bike has no more issues - everything works absolutely brilliantly - just as it probably should have from the off.
So - not great that it broke in the first place but the usual outstanding support from Balderston's ensured that all is now well - the software update - if you dare go for it! - does sort the issues out.
Finally, I use an Autocom set up for all my bluetooth and radio needs - I recently fitted the new bluetooth unit from Chainspeed - the BT-03 - which has full support for the new TFT unit. Excellent unit - very quiet and fast to pair and come on line - much cheaper than the Autocom unit that cant be used with the TFT. Well worth a look if you are an Autocom user.
