Its going on Tuesday. I've traded it on a 1200RT and I'm going to look at an HP2 or an HP1, but until I make my mind up. I'm just going to hire a bike for any adventure rides.
If I ever buy a GS again, I will not have ABS. I have been having problems with front brake shudder. BMW first thought is was a damaged ABS ring on the front wheel, they tell me all there has to be is a very small stone chip and the sensor will pick this up which can make the ABS turn off and on. The other problem is a warped disk. They then thought this was the problem, so they replaced it but within a day the brakes where doing it again. Now it looks like the front wheel is bent only slightly, but this could be enough for the ABS sensor to pick it up and make the ABS turn off and on. I new about the bent wheel, it is only very slightly bent on the outer rim through riding over rocks. we had about 5 1200gs bikes on the day bend there front wheels on this road.
You would never know the front wheel is bent riding it or fitting new tires.
I don't like the new adventure. It will be a pig with all the extra load it has to carry as it only has the standard 1200gs gear box.
My wife said she liked riding on the 1150 adventure, but has not liked the 1200gs, she only told me last night.
She loves the 1200rt and it will be fun riding it on the odd gravel road which is getting less as the local council is sealing a lot of them.
