Darn it.

Sounds as though something's loose on my 2010 GSA - noticeable especially when accelerating between 2-3k I'm hearing a sound as if as if a bolt has come loose and I've got some metal on metal contact somewhere under the tank.

Any suggestions of likely candidates before I get the spanners out?

Cheers

In which gear, or all?

Good question.

I'm tempted to say all - but definitely noticeable in bottom 4 gears, past that wind noise/helmet/ear plugs would make it difficult to say.

if its def only under acceleration (ie not when braking or clutch in coasting), i would look around the fork tops and the front shock, the front will lift and the wishbone and fork brace will move a fair bit, look for any signs of contact between moving parts and the main frame bits

Sounds like pre-ignition otherwise known as Pinking to me. But I could be wrong.

Doesnt sound like pinking - where I've had that on an engine before it's been a more "tinkling" sound, whereas this sounds more like 2 metallic surfaces knocking against each other. If this was one of me old brit bikes I'd be thinking I had a loose tank bolt or head steady bolt.

I do reckon the bike is running way too lean but if this is pinking it's the worst I've ever heard.

fit an accelerator module or recyclizer

they fool the ECU into thinking it's colder and it enrichens the mixture to about 13 : 1 ish instead of BM's 15: 1
