I had a short walk round to Sondel this lunch time to have a look at winter gloves and maybe see what stuff they have on sale and it's closed down.

I've been going in there since about 1980 when I lived in Highgate and here they are gone phut!

Pride and Clark won't be far behind.

I bought a furygan "Sure" leather jacket from sondel back in 1987. I've still got it, and it still fits :thumb. So there's now no chance of taking it back if it falls to pieces :tears

Good going. My Oxtar boots are starting to look a bit tatty after ten years and I wanted a new pair. Have to see if there is another bike shop locally I can ignore for a few months and then find it has closed down....

Many moons ago when i had my RD250B i used to go to Sondels when they were in Stroud Green road, the place where it used to be is an Automatic gear box repairers.

I read the thread title and first few words of the post and thought "Hasn't that closed down?"

I moved just up the road (behind Holloway Road tube station) about 6 months ago and was delighted to see a bike shop so close but gutted to notice it was boarded up! Shame there's no Hein Gericke's that near either.

Good bloody job, went in last year for some revit stuff for my wife and my daughter was interested as well, never came across a more disinterested, ignorant bunch of wankers in my life. So much so that my daughter who has been in the bike gear sales game since she was 13 was prompted to phone up Revit and tell them what she thought of one of their "main" dealers.

I remember this place being up for sale about seven or eight years ago; did ownership change? I used to use them while I was working in the City but haven't been there for a while. I always remember that their clothing range and stock was pretty good but this was over ten years ago.

Sondel in Blackfen used to be Garozzo (still some of the old Garozzo staff there) and was my "local" when growing up on Elsies back in the eighties.
