Though this might be the place to post this. toying with the idea of changing from apple to sony, mainly bored a bit with iphone and really want a better camera. Have got a better deal on a new z1 and will be able to sell my iphone 5 with an extra years warranty for £350 or so. What does anyone think?:aidan

i think you'll struggle to get a better camera than the 5, even more so with a 5S, unless you buy a Nokia Lumia.

The z1 isn't a replacement for an iPhone. It's a good enough phone just a bit Ho hum. You really need to be looking a bit higher spec to be comparable.

serious??

I think the iPhones good but the camera just doesnt impress me, or maybe i'm doing something wrong???

None of the cameras on phones impress me. It doesn't matter how many pixels you throw at it the lenses an sensors are simply too small. They are OK to have in your pocket for that spontaneous picture but honestly if you want to take good pictures buy a camera.
I have a Samsung S3 and the camera is OK and personally I would say it's a better phone than an iPhone. The S4 should be better or the HTC X as well. Sony phones like I said are good enough phones but that's all they are. They don't inspire or have any wow factor. Another phone that is pretty unknown but gets rave reviews is the Opo find 5. You won't get one on a contract though. All are Android phones if you want to make that leap to another platform. Alternatively keep your 5 and with the saved money buy a camera and get better pictures. If you want a swish camera you could get a galaxy camera. Basically an S3 with a semi proper lense and sensor. It's no DSLR but it's pretty good for a compact camera and has all the power of Android driving it.
