I was really dissappointed when they bought this out. Hasnt the success of the GS and KTM told them there is a huge market for adventure touring bikes that are capable off going off road. This is just another road bike and looks no more exciting or inspiring than a Fazer to me.
Thats what I thought but according to sales figures the 07 Tiger is out selling the 1200GS.
I'm on my third Triumph all 1200's the first one had 63,000 miles on it when I sold it. Only component I had to replace was the HT leads, it still had its original exhaust system.
I nearly bought a 955i Tiger instead of my 1100GS but just couldnt live with the strange styling, much prefer the look of the first models.
My R1200GS has broken down more times then I care to remember
