This is driving me nuts:blast
I have a website with video content but on several PCs I get sound but no video. Works fine on some PCs and on all my macs. Web designers have said it's a local problem which I have to agree with. I have latest versions of Quicktime, IE, Firefox and Safari and Adobe flash player, uninstalled, re-installed etc. etc. but still no joy.
I have trawled the internet and suspect it may have something to do with the CSS design within the site but basically I'm lost. Has anyone any suggestions:confused:

Is it

a particular format or all video? Also what platform are the ones giving you grief?

Hard to say... they work fine on my MacBook
OSX 10.6.1 using Safari and Firefox

I'd have thought if problem is on windooze, sound - no video, it's just mediaplayer associated with mp4 and not knowing what to do with it???

Good old Apple! - they work fine on my G5, I-Mac and macbook but not these blasted windows machines. I have looked into file type and mime configurations etc. but am still confounded. Guess I will just have to get some sort of wizzard on site to resolve (hopefully) the issue.
Thanks anyway.
Will post the solution if I ever find it.
Oh.. and I'm going to try a .flv file to see if tha works.

Hi Adam,
done it - all up to date but problem remains. Most annoying thing is the videos used to work fine on this very machine.

Bizarre. FWIW I have the same on my laptop. I just updated QT, but haven't restarted the laptop yet so...

Only have uploaded mp4, will try .flv and see what happens.
Platform is Vista.
Thanks

think you need to host the .flv file on a streaming server to get it to stream proper - but it'll work I should imagine on all browsers.

For what it's worth I eventually solved this problem by disabling my protection software (Kapersky) re-installing Quick-Time and hey-presto sound and vision:aidan
