Having just identified the maps I need for a trip to Prague, even with just a 100km deviation either side of a central route I find that the maps I need to load to my SP III total 236.6MB. My removable memory card holds 32MB.... that'll get me to somewhere just outside Calais!

So, is there a way around this?

I don't want to buy a new card because 1) I'd need maybe 2 x 128MB cards, 2) they're still very expensive 3) I don't want to invest further in these unique cards that are specific to this now-obsolete unit.

I don't want to try to carry out memory card updates from Internet Cafes as I go.

I know it's kind of pointing that way, but I don't want to upgrade to a newer gps yet.

Any ideas, people?

1) You'd be better with 1 x 256 MB card.

2) True - about £120 for a 256 MB card from Global Positioning Systems.....

Although I'm sure I only paid about £80 for mine on ebay a couple of years ago....:nenau

3) The cards aren't just SPIII specific. They're also used in 276C, 296 and 376C which is still a current model.

Or, if you want to attempt a DIY solution.....

Thanks Schtum, that's really helpful. :thumb

And there I was, about to alter my plans to a weekend in Bruges...
