hi all

thanks pb:)

One of our fatter members called Whatton managed to get his sausage fingers on some 5ltr plastic flat fuel cans , i believe they were from a boat :)

Kind of chunky A4 size if that makes sense

Fantastic for carrying Gin in :ChrisKelly

PM him :thumb

Or if you really only wanted a couple of litres..

plastic
metal

or try the snowmobile solution

or if you have more money than sense..

of course if you want to go down the soft bag route your could try one of these which I know are for water but there's an interesting review of it used as a fuel container here

Hope that helps :thumb2

You can get really nice plastic 5l ones at garden stores - they use them to top-up petrol weed-wackers...

B&Q do a small 3ltr jerry can complete with a detachable pouring spout. It was about a fiver if I remember correctly.

hi all
thanks for the replies , checked a few out that you all posted ,
container needs to be flat as possible so packable into small space ,side of frame ,thought of using mountaineering type , trangia or msr etc ,ltr bottle either side of frame , with cam buckle straps for fasteners or container like a turps type bottle , some plastics degenerate with fuel in them after a short while .
keep the replies coming ,something will be suitable .
thanks pb

Hein Gericke do the ones the same as mentioned by Scuba-Sparky.........and these are the same as the ones TT do carriers to to fix to panniers (although not BMW type GSA ones...as I found they prevent you getting the key into the lock if put on the ends...although other locations could be found)

The containers are specifically for fuel which is good, and found them to be easily stowable inside the panniers.

Other than that I had concidered the lightweight aluminium 'drink bootle' type at the beginning of the thread.
