Speed Bleeder Valves for GSA LC

I fitted them to my Daytona 955 and to be honest unless you were replacing your brake fluid on a very regular basis (for example if it was on a Track Day bike) then I wouldn't bother

It will make it easier but it only makes it worth while if you were replacing your brake fluid on a very regular basis

The speed bleeders need to be replaced when the brake system is full. They are a complete and utter nightmare to bleed when the system is empty if say you were also replacing your brake hoses at the same time. Don ask me how I know this :blast

If you are going to fit them then do so before you replace the old fluid, then bleed the system and replace with fresh fluid

Perfect for a Track Day machine that gets the fluid really working hence the need for regular changes :thumb2

Cheers. I found a thread on ADV rider about them and somebody suggested using the Motion Pro Hydraulic Brake Bleeder valve so I might try this instead. Yeah, read about the empty system thing... If I was going to add them I'd do it when I replace the pads, probably next service, and change the fluid at the same time. I read somewhere about the GS service schedule for brake fluid change was pretty frequent (more than usual).

Replace 'more than usual' with 'more than necessary' and you've hit the nail on the head :D

True. I didn't change my 2008 F800GS brake fluid for like 7 years and the brakes were as good as the day I got it, until one day they went to virtually nothing, when it was changed it was like mud, but fresh fluid and as good as new.

On the LC BMW says it needs doing at 6000 (which is bollocks) then every two years thereafter

I think it's at 1 year, rather 6000. Mine was done at 12,000 as that (almost) coincided with 1 year. Then every two years, which is pretty much bike standard. The average Jap bike service maintenance schedule says replace the hoses at 2 years.
