I fitted them to my Daytona 955 and to be honest unless you were replacing your brake fluid on a very regular basis (for example if it was on a Track Day bike) then I wouldn't bother
It will make it easier but it only makes it worth while if you were replacing your brake fluid on a very regular basis
The speed bleeders need to be replaced when the brake system is full. They are a complete and utter nightmare to bleed when the system is empty if say you were also replacing your brake hoses at the same time. Don ask me how I know this
If you are going to fit them then do so before you replace the old fluid, then bleed the system and replace with fresh fluid
Perfect for a Track Day machine that gets the fluid really working hence the need for regular changes
Cheers. I found a thread on ADV rider about them and somebody suggested using the Motion Pro Hydraulic Brake Bleeder valve so I might try this instead. Yeah, read about the empty system thing... If I was going to add them I'd do it when I replace the pads, probably next service, and change the fluid at the same time. I read somewhere about the GS service schedule for brake fluid change was pretty frequent (more than usual).
True. I didn't change my 2008 F800GS brake fluid for like 7 years and the brakes were as good as the day I got it, until one day they went to virtually nothing, when it was changed it was like mud, but fresh fluid and as good as new.
I think it's at 1 year, rather 6000. Mine was done at 12,000 as that (almost) coincided with 1 year. Then every two years, which is pretty much bike standard. The average Jap bike service maintenance schedule says replace the hoses at 2 years.
