Speed Camera Detector

Just wondered if anyone could advise as to whats the best, most accurate speed camera detector to fit on my GS?

Has anyone already got one fitted to their bike if so, any pictures to see how and where you've mounted it?

Mk I Eyeball. Surely a good reason to keep you obeservation as far ahead as possible?

Parents had a detector that went off at every crossing and traffic light. Drove me mad!
For static camera's, most sat nav's are good at warning you.

Escort Solo works well, I also have a BEL cordless which is not as sensitive. I back it up with camera POI's in my GPS via earphones. Have a HUD led in my helmet on a wireless link.. All the bells & wistles get your attention when you're not alert but common sense & awareness prevail... I had a pic of the mount but alas have deleted it.

In terms of accuracy, I'd recommend a cheap GPS (as long as it is one with them included). Plenty give you a very obvious visual and audible warning, and as long as you download the latest data, you should have most of them on there.

If you can find one of the out of production Drivesmarts the PocketGPS database can be loaded onto it. Having an RT it fits in the tailcone of my bike and it's output of beeps and voice alerts are routed via an Autocom. It all works very well and in my case is backed up by the equivalent PGPS camera overlay on my Quest

Inforad is the dogs, it's easy to fit and works a treat, especially made for bikes. I've had it for 3 years, and it's only £39.99 now!

I've had mine since 2006 and it works a treat! You can even log your journey with them and for about £19.95 you can have lifetime updates and update the unit form your PC as often as you want to. It also covers Europe.
