Speeding up PC

hi

I have tried the usual disc clean, frag, cache, files, cookies blah blah

The size of the memory is 3gb and i have used up 2gb , i have run all virus checks ..everything and it still runs like a snail .

Is there a way which is not the obvious as above to get rid of crap hiding away.Or programs that slow things up, it takes forever to load .

download ccleaner ( crapcleaner )

let it run

then do a scan for issues

that'll sort it out - i've been using it for 3 yrs - no worries


....but you probably need either more RAM or an add-in graphics card - both cheap enough these days

Depends on the operating system and the configuration of the computer. Run MSCONFIG and have a look at what's set to start up, decide what is really required, dump / uninstall the rest.

Got this one from one of the recent PC magazines:

Go to:

www.tinyurl.com/ygmhqm

and download the file that monitors processes.

Run the file and see what processes are eating up resources.

(on mine it was Spysweeper - when I had AVG complete solution running also)

I uninstalled the Spysweeper and Presto-Hey............ PC back to normal.

When you say you have 3gig of memory and you have 'used' 2gig is that 'RAM' or the H/drive you are talking about.
