Speedo refurbishment

I had poor and very expensive service from MR Bond. He replaced the glass on one of the clocks and failed to achieve a watertight seal, quoted for refurbishing instuement housing then came back and asked for a further £40 for redoing the lettering, Rev counter had to go back to be calibrated etc etc

I'm afraid you have to send them to the USA to get them done properly....................and at a sensible price!

Depending on what needs doing, have you thought of doing it yourself? There is plenty of info how to service BMW instruments it on some of the other forums. I managed to sort out a problem with some randomly turning odometer wheels myself.

My local guy doesn't charge much and rarely needs spare parts - his take is that the vibration on a bike is the main problem and he just strips them , cleans and lube's what needs it and reassembles them, screwing them up nice and tight.
He fixed two non working rev counters for me for a $60 each, less than a quarter of the $300- Oz "Expert" charges for one , and the expert usually wants $100- quids worth of parts too.

Getting the rim/ glass off without damage takes a bit patience, but they are available new, just cant remember who from!
